Pilot Funding Available to Researchers at CORES Institutions

Researchers at the eight institutions of the Consortium of Rural States (CORES) Research Collaborative are invited to apply for multi-institutional pilot awards.

The Request for Applications (RFA), released on Oct. 31, 2024, offers awards of up to $25,000 per participating institution. The RFA requires the participation of at least two CORES institutions on each pilot application. Letters of intent are due Jan. 8, 2025, and invited full applications are due March 3, 2025.

In the simulated scenarios, patients challenge their health providers with expressions of bias and prejudice. The incidents, based on real-life experiences, have been created as part of a multi-step process in which a comprehensive simulation-based educational program is being created to equip health care teams with the tools to manage patient prejudice toward providers.
